Reverse Illinois’ Outrageous Per-Wager Tax

Football season just got more expensive in Illinois. Springfield passed a per-wager sports betting tax back in May — and now fans are paying the price.

No other state punishes legal sports bettors like this. For fans placing small $1 or $2 bets, the tax can cost as much as half the wager itself. That’s outrageous.
