While sports betting operators in many states with legal wagering offer up local problem gambling hotlines, the Sports Betting Alliance industry group is hoping to point lawmakers toward streamlining the system by advocating for 1-800-GAMBLER to be used across the country.

SBA told the DC officials that its member sportsbooks offer in-app tools to help players manage their gambling habits and prevent or limit problem gambling. Such resources include self-limits on time spent on the platform, caps on deposits and betting amounts, and self-exclusion opportunities.
